Together, we have a great opportunity to help some very special women find healing for their broken and captive hearts. Let us explain . . .
Captive Hearts (www.captivehearts.org) is an outreach ministry in California for women who have been released from jail or prison and are given follow-up care, guidance and loving support. The staff teach classes in the jails and in the after care program. Captive Hearts offers a rehabilitation program to help the women get back on their feet. No matter the means of their arrival, the women come face to face with their root issues, in an environment of healing and acceptance through unconditional love.
LeeAnn Smith, a Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor with Captive Hearts, has been teaching a weekly class each quarter on our book, The Missing Commandment: Love Yourself. We have provided her with books for two of her classes. She recently contacted us and shared:
We have implemented your book as part of our curriculum with our ladies and it is a true blessing. And they absolutely love it, even though parts are difficult emotionally. It is a very soft and kind way for them to gain understanding on why they fight some of the battles they do. I love how it helps the ladies have a different view of God and themselves. It really is an instrument of righteousness!!
Normally the ladies do not actually get a copy of any book that we study, as we don’t have the finances for that. This is such a blessing to be able to hand them the actual book to keep as their own. Having their own book is a big deal and speaks value to them. Thank you for your ongoing donations. Many lives are being affected one at a time with your book.
She has ten students in each class, and recently shared three testimonials from women in her recent class:
“I am a recovering heroin addict recently placed in a recovery home where we are guided through various classes to aid us in overcoming the underlying issues, traumas and false belief systems that led to substance abuse. One of our classes is your book, ‘The Missing Commandment: Love Yourself.’ Through these past weeks of going through the book and reflecting and group processing, I have come to see myself more closely and rightly aligned with how God sees me. Coming to agreement and acceptance that has leaked out into other facets of my recovery and I am able to be more compassionate towards myself, my substance abuse and those who have hurt me in my lifetime. Your depiction of the Father’s true heart has forever molded my understanding of Him more correctly and has thus made it all the easier to approach Him and receive His relentless pursuits and wooing. Thank you.”
Another client: “’The Missing Commandment: Love Yourself’ has truly changed my life and the way that I see myself today. I have been able to open up, be honest with myself and Father God about my life traumas. Your book has brought to light the importance of accepting Father God’s love, and with that has come real, deep, solid healing. I am forever grateful to God and for your book. It has given me peace within. I learned how NOT to talk down to myself and for the first time ever have been able to look in the mirror and express affirmations and talk nicely and lovingly to myself. I was able to relate my own upbringing and how it affected the way I haven’t loved myself. The book/study shed so much light on how God loves me and how I should unconditionally love myself through His desires. This all speaks volumes to me.”
For every donation of $10 (retail $14.99), we will send one copy of our book, The Missing Commandment: Love Yourself, to Captive Hearts Ministry. We will also cover the cost for shipping.
